SFC Felicia Penn

SFC Felicia Penn was born in Sumter, SC, and has served in the SCARNG for 20 years. Her desire to join the military at age 17 was inspired by her father who served in the U.S Army and her uncle who served in the U.S Marines.

She began her National Guard career as a 71L, Administrative Specialist in the 151st Field Artillery Brigade. In 2006, she began her AGR career and later reclassified as a 92Y, Logistics Specialist. SFC Penn has held various positions in the logistics field to include Property Book NCO, Unit Supply Sergeant, and Senior Logistics NCO. She is certified as an Army Basic Instructor. Additionally, SFC Penn has had the distinct opportunity to attend the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute at Patrick Air Force Base, FL where she became certified as an Equal Opportunity Advisor for the SCARNG as well as a mediator for the Department of Defense. SFC Penn currently serves with a dynamic team in the G-3 as the state Mobilization NCO.

With a motivation to inspire and mentor others, SFC Penn became a Certified Professional Life Coach in 2015. She takes joy in working with challenged youth and single parents. Over the years she has also developed a distinct interest in marketing design and in 2015, she successfully completed her Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design from South University.

SFC Penn believes that everyone is a leader because someone is always watching you. She has a passion for leadership. It is because of this and the inspiration of past and present female minority leaders that she is currently seeking a Bachelor’s in Organizational Leadership from Columbia Southern University.

SFC Penn resides in Columbia, SC with her husband Wayne of 11 years, and her two beautiful daughters Kori and Kami. She enjoys running, CrossFit, and podcasting with her husband.
