MAJ Samatha Montgomery
MAJ Montgomery is a native of Columbia, SC but was provided the opportunity to travel the world with her parents and siblings attributable to her father’s military career. After returning home following her father’s retirement, she elected to join the SCARNG while attending college at Winthrop University.
MAJ Montgomery has served in the SCARNG for 17 years. Earning her commission from Palmetto Military Academy (SCARNG), she completed the program as the Distinguished Honor Graduate in 2005. MAJ Montgomery has held various positions in the Logistics field to include Platoon Leader, CO A 351st Aviation Support Battalion; Maintenance Control Officer, HSC 351st Aviation Support Battalion; Detachment Commander, DET 1 CO A 351st Aviation Support Battalion; BN S4, 351st Aviation Support Battalion; Commander, CO A 351st Aviation Support Battalion; BN S1, 351st Aviation Support Battalion; G4 Plans Officer, 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command; BDE S4, 678th Air Defense Artillery Brigade and is currently the G4 Security, Plans and Operations Officer for the 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command. Additionally, MAJ Montgomery previously served in an AGR capacity in the SCARNG for the 351st Aviation Support Battalion as the Battalion Training Officer and Administrative Officer thru 2013 until such time she elected to transition into the civilian sector where she is now the Chief Strategy Officer for a private holdings company in Columbia, SC.
MAJ Montgomery holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Winthrop University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Leadership Development from the University of Phoenix. She enjoys spending time with her family, working out and embracing the beauty of life whenever she can. She is constantly thriving for knowledge in all aspects of life, specifically the furtherance of society and economic development. She currently resides in Irmo, SC with her husband, CW2(P) Antonio Montgomery and their two children.
